William (W.A.) Tucker, Jr., 73, of Sherwood, passed away September 15, 2020 and is now playing the piano in Heaven with Jesus. Born December 29, 1946 to Bill and Pauline Tucker, he graduated from North Little Rock High School and retired from Worthen Bank. He was saved as a child and was a member of Central Baptist Church in North Little Rock.
W.A. is survived by his wife, Phyllis Edwards Tucker; son, Trey Tucker (Tasha); daughter, Alex Pritchett (Cory); grandchildren, Cassidy Tucker, Treagan Tucker, Avery Kate Tucker, Addie Pritchett and Hunter Pritchett; sister, Frances Lewis (Larry); and other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Billy Max Tucker.
Always the life of the party, W.A. could light up the room, his laugh was contagious. He loved to tell a joke and was famous for his one-liners and quips. He loved movies, especially the golden era. He was a fan of Loretta Young, and would run home as a young teen to watch her weekly television show.
W.A. loved his family very much. He was always the first one to jump up and cheer at a ballgame or be the loudest one to clap at a concert or recital. He was very musical and could play by ear any tune he heard. He played the organ and piano at various churches for many years. He had a beautiful voice and loved to sing along with the Gaither Sing Alongs. W.A. also loved the outdoors. He always had a garden to tend to and grew beautiful flowers. Lots of summers were spent boating, skiing, and swimming with family and friends.
Services will be held on Thursday, September 17 at 11:00 a.m., preceded by visitation beginning at 10:00, at Central Baptist Church, 5200 Fairway
