Ronald "Ron" Williams, Sr.

Ronald “Ron” Mark Williams Sr., age 77 of Sherwood, AR. passed away Friday, March 27th, 2020. He was born to Ruby and Percy Williams in Jeffersonville, IN. Ron spent his childhood in Memphis, TN, where he met the love of his life, Ann Callery Williams (wife of 54 years). They married at Prescott Memorial Baptist Church in Memphis and have been blessed with the birth of two children and three grandchildren.

Ron was a graduate of Messick High School (1960) and Memphis State University (1964) with a Bachelor of Business Administration. Upon graduation, Ron spent twenty-two years of military service as a Pilot in the United States Air Force. After retiring from military service, Ron pursued a career in commercial aviation, which took him over the vast majority of the world.

Ron and Ann raised their family in Sherwood, AR, and have been active members of the First Baptist Church Sherwood for thirty-seven years. Outside of work, Ron enjoyed spending time at the lake, boating, fishing, and woodworking. Most of all, Ron loved spending his free time with his family as they were the light of his life.

Ron is survived by wife Ann Callery Williams; son, Ronald “Mark” Williams Jr (Lisa) of Sherwood, AR;  daughter, Kristin Connell (Mike Connell) of Little Rock, AR; and grandchildren, Ashton Williams, Maggie Connell, and Mason Connell.

The family wants to thank all friends and family for their love, prayers, and support.

A drop in viewing will be held from 1:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 31 at Smith-Sherwood Funeral Home (7700 Hwy 107).  Private family services on Wednesday.  A Celebration of Life with committal in Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery will be at a later date.
