Justin Hurley

Justin DeWayne Hurley passed from this life to eternal life May 4, 2021.  Justin was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on August 16, 1972 to John and Gwen Hurley.  He is survived by his wife, Jennifer and six children:  Jakeb, Carson, Ethan, Jude, Claire and Emersyn; one grandchild, Malakai; his mother, Gwen; his step-father Lee Beason; a sister, Deborah Teel and other extended family.

Justin was employed in missions and church service most of his life.  This was the work he loved.  He was always true to God’s principles, lived them out and taught them to many people.  He was an able counselor for many young couples and youth serving as youth pastor and small groups pastor among other responsibilities.  He also was an excellent preacher sharing the preaching responsibilities while fulfilling other obligations.  Just never met a stranger.  He had a unique ability to overcome the typical awkwardness of meeting new people and making them feel comfortable.  One friend said a few days ago that Justin was also gifted at bringing light into dark situations.

Justin was very close to all of his family.  His true love was his wife of 29 years, Jennifer.  Justin and Jennifer shared a love that was very deep and was an example to their children and others.  He was a loving father doting on all of his children.  He and the rest of the family were all gifted in music, some instruments and others vocally.  His favorite family activity was having Jennifer and all the children playing and singing together in their living room.  To have all of them together enjoying various kinds of music was a real joy for all.  He amazingly juggled the attendance at each child’s ballgame, musical performance and other activities, a challenge with six children but a challenge he met.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Dream Center, C/O New Life Church GLR.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, followed by life celebration at 11:00 AM, Monday, May 10, 2021 at New Life Church, Greater Little Rock Campus.
