Jimmy Shirley

Jimmy Eugene Shirley, 80, of England passed from this life on July 29, 2021, at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. He was born September 25, 1940, in North Little Rock, Arkansas to the late Ernest and Faye (Cupit) Shirley. Mr. Shirley was of the Baptist Faith and served his country in the Army National Guard. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golf and traveling, but was always happiest spending time with his family. He will always be remembered as a hardworking, loyal, and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to all who were privileged to know him. In addition to his parents, brothers, Waymon and Jerry Shirley preceded him in death.

Survivors include his devoted wife of fifty-eight years, Katie (Balentine) Shirley; children, Michael Shirley of England, and Michelle Brooks (Floyd) of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Chris Shirley, Mike Shirley, Tiffany Ward, Katelyn Brooks; great grandchildren, Sawyer, Rhetton and Roman Shirley. Other survivors include siblings, Melvin Shirley of Cabot, and Debbie Ison (Eddie) of Gravel Ridge, along with a host of extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be 2:30pm Monday, August 2, 2021, at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home with Rev. John Ison officiating. Interment will follow at Gravel Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home beginning at 1:30pm.
