Harvey Townsend

Harvey Lynn Townsend, age 90, of North Little Rock, Arkansas was born on November 2, 1929 near the Black Oak Community of Northeast Arkansas. He died on February 27, 2020 at Baptist Health Medical Center – Little Rock.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Clio Jane Merideth Townsend and a son, Anthony Lynn “Tony” Townsend. He is survived by a son, Thomas Lyle “Tommy” Townsend and wife Kari of North Little Rock, Arkansas and a daughter, Teresa Leigh Townsend Wilkison and husband Donnie of Maddox Bay, Arkansas.

He is also survived by 7 grandchildren – Summer Lynn Townsend Troxclair, Suzannah Leigh Spratlin, Sarah Jane Spratlin Snow, Ethan James Spratlin, Sunny Lynn Townsend, Ashtyn Lockley and Blake Wilkison; Also surviving are 9 great- grandchildren – Drake Troxclair, Cole Troxclair, Saylor Grace Snow, Shepard Hayley Snow, Kade William Lockley, Cooper Denton Lockley, Anthony James “AJ”. Griffin, Ryleigh Danelle Griffin and Andrew Samuel Fortman, Jr.; a host of nieces, nephews and devoted friends.

Harvey was retired owner of Harvey’s Welding Shop and Harvey’s Auto Sales. He was the consummate outdoorsman and a certified scuba diver, He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, gardening and a day at the horse races. His generosity to those in need was well known.

In lieu of flowers, Harvey’s legacy of giving can be remembered with a donation to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, two of his favorite charities.

Visitation will be 1:00-3:00 p.m., Sunday, March 1, 2020 at Smith-North Little Rock Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 2, 2020,  at the funeral home, with burial at Rest Hills Memorial Park.
