Ellen Lee DeGroodt

Ellen Lee Bailey DeGroodt, 93, of North Little Rock, went home to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on December 5, 2020. She was born May 6, 1927 to the late Allen and Rachel (Gatling) Holmes, in Sheridan, Arkansas.

Ellen was preceded in death by husbands, Richard “Pat” Bailey for 51 years, and John DeGroodt for 11 years; her parents, and three brothers.  She is survived by her daughter, Nadine Helton (Robert), three grandchildren, Steve, Vikki (Scott), and Richard, and by five great-grandsons, Jack, James, Hewitt, Asher, and Reese.  Ellen is also survived by her beloved niece Della Rhea Holley who she was like a mother to as well as her four great-nieces Darlene Houser, Kimberly Harris, LaDonna Broussard and Ashlea Watson, twenty-one great-great-nieces and nephews and numerous other extended family.

She was a member of Central Baptist Church in North Little Rock where her church family and faith were very important to her, she loved to bake and garden, she cherished her family and loved life.

Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at Edgewood Memorial Park in North Little Rock, officiated by Dr. Wyman Richardson.
