Elener Britton

Elener Jane Britton was born on October 29, 1943 to Lilburn Leslie and Verna Marie (Hoggard) Newcom. She earned her Heavenly reward on March 13, 2020. She is survived by her husband of fifty-eight years, Franklin Dale Britton, her daughter Teri Mallion (David), her son Ronny Britton (Elizabeth), her grandchildren Natalie Young, Brandi Young, Jonathon Young (Caitlyn), her step-grandchildren Brock Mallion, Amber Mallion, Nick Clark, Alex Lawson, great-grandchildren Griffin Young, and Silvia Lawson; brothers and sisters, Tommy Newcom (Nancy), Curtis Newcom (Diana), Nancy Newcom (Tommy) Vernon Alls (Joan), and Jimmy Alls, and one sister-in-law Norma Newcom and many beloved nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Lilburn Newcom and Verna Newcom-Alls, honorary dad Charlie Alls, brother James Newcom and one great-grandchild, Kane Taylor.

Elener retired from Maybelline Corp after thirty years, then volunteered at St. Vincent Medical Center for fourteen years. She and her husband have been members of Apostolic Church for over fifty-five years. She loved her flowers, specifically yellow roses. She collected nutcrackers, books and her favorite, frogs. This time of year was her favorite as she loved to walk the daffodil fields and watch the flowers bloom. She loved cruises, sunset boat rides on Lake Ouachita, and spending her winters soaking up the Florida sunshine. Her love for travel made her ready at the drop of a hat, especially if someone said, “Branson?” But above all else, her favorite times were spent surrounded by the ones she loved the most.

Visitation will be Sunday, 4-6 p.m., March 15, at Apostolic United Church, 4314 Landers Rd., NLR, AR 72117 with Funeral Services being held Monday, 2:00 p.m., March 16 at the same location officiated by Pastor Donnie Copeland and Bro. Tim White.  Entombment at Rest Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum.  Pallbearers will be Richard Barnard, Steve Butler, Mark Bailey, Jim Coffer, Jimmy Coffer, Tracy Stracenar, Charles Martin and Zach Newcom.
