Charles Edward (Eddie) Woody, 74, of North Little Rock passed away Tuesday, August 10, 2021. He was born August 4, 1947, in Dermott, AR. to the late Charles and Valeree Woody. Eddie was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles and Maude Woody, Samuel and Zora Hall, niece Kacie Rene Woody and in-laws, Fred & Lucille Shelton. He graduated from North Little Rock High School in 1965 and attended Arkansas Tech and UALR. Eddie served in the Arkansas Army National Guard, 39th Aviation Company and Air Mobilization Unit. In 1969, Eddie married his high school sweetheart, Janice (Jan) Kay Shelton, and together they had one son, Charles Jeremy Shelton Woody.

Eddie was an active member of Gardner Memorial United Methodist Church. He served on various committees including being a UMY counselor with Jan. He was Co-Owner of C. Woody Plumbing Co. in North Little Rock. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and fished in many circuits including: F.LW., Anglers Choice, Mr. Bass of Arkansas, B.F.L., B.A.S.S. and Ever-Start. Eddie was a caring and loving husband, father, Pap-Paw, brother, uncle, cousin, and valued friend. He will be missed by all that knew him. He loved people and was known by his white hair, genuine smile, and big heart.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 52 years, Jan Woody, his beloved son Jeremy Woody (Julie, the daughter he never had), his precious grandchildren, Charles Alexander, and Lauren Katherine Woody, who along with Jeremy, were his greatest blessings in his life, all of Rogers, AR. Three brothers: Bill Woody (Judy) of Vilonia, Joe Woody (Karen) of Maumelle, Rick Woody (Debi) of Clinton, two sisters in law, Cheryl Hendricks (Davis) and Kristin McDonald (Tim) Nephews: Jody Woody (Karen), Jason Woody (Lori), Austin Woody (Amanda), Tim Woody (Lauren), Corey & Andrew Hendricks, and Cole Walden. Nieces: Nicki Evans (Tommy), Valerie Styles (Joey), and Jessica Mylonas (Markos) and a host of other family and friends.

The family will receive guests from 6pm to 8pm on Tuesday, August 17 at Smith Family Funeral Home in North Little Rock. A service celebrating his life will be held at 10:00am, Wednesday, August 18, at Gardner Memorial United Methodist Church. Memorial contributions may be sent to Gardner United Methodist Church, or the Gardner Food Pantry at 1723 Schaer St., North Little Rock, AR. 72114. Interment will follow the church service at Pinecrest Cemetery in Alexander, AR.

Mr. Woody’s family wishes to express a special thank you to the staff at Robinson Nursing and Rehabilitation for the love and compassion shown to Charles and his family throughout his illness.
