Anna Palmer

Anna Palmer passed away on August 9, 2021, she was born on July 23, 1932 to the late Robert Franklin and Lattis Hammett.

She was a charter member of Highway Baptist Church, quilter, grew beautiful flowers and rocked countless babies which earned her the name “Mama Ann”.

She is preceded in death by her husband of sixty-four years, Cyrel, whom she graciously cared for as he lost his battle with Alzheimer’s; and brother, Bob Hammett and daughter-in-law, Diane Palmer.

She is survived by sisters, Joyce Tinnin, Mary Scott and Judy Daughtery; and a brother, Robert Hammett; four children, Sam Palmer (Tricia), Harrell Palmer, Nancy Burnett (Fred) and Julie Nailling (Karl); five grandchildren and four great grandchildren; and her beloved chiweenie dog, Penny.

Ann was born during the great depression. She was stern and shared many survival stories that made her the woman she was. She was someone you could depend on and was a helping hand to many family members. She loved hosting family Christmas and Easter parties. She was known for her delicious recipes, especially her cherry cheese pies.

She spent countless hours babysitting her grandchildren, whom she dearly loved. Her house and yard were full of beautiful plants and flowers.

She pieced beautiful quilts and shared them with many. She had a room dedicated to quilting supplies and always joked saying, “The one with the most quilt scraps wins!”

She will be dearly missed.

Services will be Friday, August 13, 2021, at 2:00 PM with visitation one hour prior at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home.
