James "Jim" Ellis

James “Jim” David Ellis, 58, of North Little Rock went to his eternal home on Friday, September 18, 2020.  He was born April 9, 1962, to the late John E. Ellis and Laura E. (Prince) Ellis.

Jim earned his Master’s degree in Biology from University of Central Arkansas. Jim retired this past March from the US Army Corps of Engineers. He spent his free time fishing and enjoyed spending time on the lake. His gratefulness for the blessings from the Lord were evident by his wore torn Bible that he read faithfully every day.  He also considered his mission trips to Ukraine and Ecuador an honor to share his faith.

Jim is survived by his wife of 35 years, Tammy Ellis; two sons, Joshua David Ellis (Jessica Lynn), James Andrew “Drew” Ellis; granddaughter, Lena Ellis and twin grandsons, Sean Rodric Ellis and  Rowan David Ellis; one brother, John Thomas Ellis (Liz);  nieces, nephews and a multitude of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Laura E. Ellis.

Memorials can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or The American Cancer Society.

Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 PM, Monday, September 21, 2020 at Smith-North Little Rock Funeral Home.  Graveside service will be 1:00 PM, Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at Rest Hills Memorial Park.
