Cmd. Sgt. Maj. James H. Garritson (U.S. Army, Ret.), 88, of Little Rock, passed away December 5, 2018. Born in Centralia, Illinois to Harold and Mary Corzine Garritson, he was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War, served in the U.S. Army, worked 25 years in Federal Civil Service and retired from the Arkansas National Guard. He was a past president of the Enlisted Association of the Arkansas National Guard, and was also a past commander of the American Legion Post 1.
Preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Elwanda Louise Garritson, he is survived by his sons, Dean J. Garritson (Julie) of Spartanburg, South Carolina and Brad G. Garritson of Bailey, Colorado; daughter, Tara L. Garritson of Paducah, Kentucky; and Carolyn Garritson, the mother of his children, also of Paducah; grandchildren, Piper and Lilly Garritson.
Graveside service will be held Monday, December 10th at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery starting at 10:00a.m.
