Zaylene Danley, age 91, of Mount Ida, passed away on Friday, March 25, 2022.
She was born on August 11, 1930, in El Dorado, Kansas, the daughter of Willie Ray Taylor and Lora Dickinson Taylor. On May 24, 1953, she was married to Owen Danley, who preceded her in death on September 9, 2013. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Merle Taylor.
Zaylene was a retired school teacher and a member of the Lake Ouachita Baptist Church in Mount Ida. She loved to read, enjoyed quilting and cooking. She was a longtime member of the Joplin Extension Homemakers Club. Zaylene always said some of her greatest memories were her sixty-year high school reunion, family Christmas celebrations at her mother’s home and many Taylor family reunions.
She is survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, numerous extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM. Tuesday, March 29, 2022, in the Sunset Lawns Cemetery in El Dorado, Kansas, with Bro. David Crook officiating.
The family will hold a memorial service in Mount Ida at a later date to be announced.
Arrangements are under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Home, Glenwood.
Honorary pallbearers will be the members of Lake Ouachita Baptist Church, the nurses and staff of the Montgomery County Nursing Home and the nurses and staff of Montgomery County Assisted Living.
