Zachariah Brent Schoeb

Zachariah Brent Schoeb of Birmingham, AL passed away on September 11, 2022.

Zachariah Brent Schoeb was born on January 21, 1976, to Trenton Schoeb and Sandy Derryberry in Stillwater, Oklahoma. He was also known to those who loved him as Zac, Daddy, Sugar Plum, Ezacto Perfecto, Schoebex, and TieMusoo.

Zac graduated from Pelham High School in Pelham, Alabama in 1994. He later graduated from ITT Technical Institute. Zac worked at Carto-Craft Maps in Birmingham, Alabama, where he became proficient in computer aided cartography and the go-to-guy for assistance on all computer problems. Always one to support himself and his family, Zac worked painting homes, first alongside his childhood best friend at Hills Painting Service and then later in Little Rock, Arkansas. He worked as a clerk at the Pulaski County Circuit Court and Clerk’s Office. He was an exemplary employee who was well-loved by his coworkers. Zac’s humor was unmatched and he could engage anyone on any subject at the highest intellectual level all the while making it seem like a casual conversation at home. Zac was a sensitive soul who understood that the most important part of life was to love others and to be loved. It was the gleeful pleasure, joyous laughter, and warm memories created in the times spent with family and friends that mattered most to him. He took pride in protecting and providing for his loved ones and anyone else in between who needed a kind word and a helping hand. He was an empath who could always see the heart of a person despite their circumstance. He loved Star Wars and Pirates of the Caribbean. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially the time spent with his childhood best friends at Coon Creek. There were countless times he brought family and friends together around his love of games. So many days and nights involved Zac leading many cheerful faces in a game of Heroscape, Stratego, Dungeons and Dragons, Adventure Time, Pirate Dice, Chess, and so on. Zac was a skilled craftsman and talented artist who could effortlessly transform the mundane into beautiful works of art. Gifts he passed on to his daughter. Zac loved Halloween. Every year he would carve pumpkins and roast pumpkin seeds with his daughter. There were many years in which he would work diligently on crafting a spectacular Halloween costume that would bring a scary delight to his family, friends, and the patrons of so many haunted houses, including Sloss Fright Furnace. Above all else, Zac’s daughter, Cheyenne, was the apple of his eye, his ultimate pride and joy, his heart and soul, his everything.

Zac was a pure heart. A kind soul. A good man. The greatest son, brother, uncle, and father.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents Robert Warren and Martha Ann Schoeb (Cherokee, OK), Ralph Derryberry (Selma, AL), and Barney and Marine Barnhart (Tulsa, OK). He is survived by his daughter Cheyenne Schoeb (Little Rock, AR), his father Trenton R. Schoeb and stepmother M.
