Yvonne R. Turner

Yvonne R. “FeFon” Turner, age 76, of Hot Springs, passed away on Monday, February 14, 2022.

She was born on March 2, 1945, in Hot Springs, the daughter of Vance A. Long and Willie (Smith) Long. She is preceded in death by her husband of 26 years, Johnnie Turner; her parents; one grandson, Steven Ray Turner, Jr.; and two brothers, Monte V. Long and Jerry A. Long.

Yvonne was a Christian and Baptist in her faith. She served the public for over 28 years in various positions within the Social Security Administration. She was the consummate cook and shared her love for her family through her signature dishes. Many family arguments were over the last piece of her chocolate pie. Cooking was a passion she enjoyed and several nieces watched her carefully and learned to cook and have her passion for it. Known for her green thumb, African Violets and a plentiful garden were a constant in her life, she took great pride in her okra and tomatoes. Her love for her family and her nieces and nephews is everlasting. Her memory will live on with us and she will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Steven R. and Tonya Turner; her daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl R. and Steve Colwell; four grandchildren, Sarah R. Turner, Matthew Neeper, Austin Phillips and Tyler Turner; one great-grandchild, Shaelyn Turner; three siblings, Cathy (Dale) Hester, Dough (Mary) Long and Evelyn Tucker; several nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

Funeral service 2:00PM, Friday, February 18, 2022, in the Smith Family Funeral Home, Hot Springs.

Interment in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation 1:00PM-2:00PM, prior to the service.

Pallbearers are Austin Phillips, Steve Colwell, Tyler Turner, Matthew Neeper, Brian Turner and Daniel Long.

Honorary pallbearers are Doug Long and Dale Hester.
