Former Little Rock Public Accountant Dies

Winfred C. Mullen, 84, of Little Rock, AR passed away peacefully into the arms of his loving Savior Jesus Christ on August 12, 2021.

“Win” was born in Kensett, AR on February 13, 1937, son of Rev. O.D. & Sarah L. Mullen, the youngest of nine children.  He was a graduate of Heber Springs High School and the University of Arkansas.  He had a long career serving clients in his Little Rock private accounting firm, retired in 2013, and was a long-time member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Little Rock, where he served as deacon.  He always looked for the humor in life and loved to bring joy to others.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years and the love of his life, Faye Y.  Mullen; daughters Karen Parrish (David) of Southlake, TX and Kathy Morey (Andrew) of Iowa Colony, TX; grandchildren Lauren Parrish, Lindy Hunt (Chris), Carson Morey & Austin Morey; sister-in-law Dory Mullen of Peoria, IL; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters Elna Bolin of Heber Springs, AR, Daphna Ausburn of Searcy AR, Vivian Ryerson of Independence, MO, Verla Berkau Wilson of Little Rock, and twin sister Winsell Harris of Heber Springs, AR; brothers Olen Mullen of Hanover Park, IL, Alfred Ronald Mullen of Peoria, IL, and Rev. Douglas Mullen of Nokesville, VA.

The service will be on Monday, August 16, 2021, with visitation at 2:00 pm in the Sanctuary of Immanuel Baptist Church, 501 N. Shackleford Rd, Little Rock, AR, followed by the memorial service at 3:00pm.  Dr. Rex Horne will officiate. Service will be conducted by Smith Little Rock Funeral Home.

Win’s family is most grateful for the outpouring of love from their extended family, friends, church and neighbors during his illness, and also give their heartfelt thanks to Baptist Health Hospice and the caregivers and residents of Brookdale Chenal Heights Assisted Living for their loving care and support.
