Windell Van Camp, age 85, of Pike City, died Wednesday, August 8, 2012. He was born on October 22, 1926, in Antoine, the son of Jim B. Van Camp and Cora Cubit Van Camp. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Bill Van Camp and Jerry Van Camp. A United States Army veteran of World War II, he was a retired log truck driver and member of the Pike City Missionary Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Lois Van Camp of Pike City; two children, Junior Van Camp and his wife, Judy, and Sissy Cummings, all of Murfreesboro; his step-mother, Irene Van Camp of Antoine; nine grandchildren, Lois Schilling, Ginger Martin, David Dewayne Jackson Van Camp, Mandy Cummings, Kayla Cummings, Lewis Kimmel, Larry Kimmel, Douglas Lamb and Angela Waddell; fifteen great-grandchildren; three brothers, Jimmy Van Camp of Longview, Texas, Johnny Van Camp and Lonny Van Camp both of Antoine; three sisters, Sue Peters of Kelso, Washington, Patsy Stone and Debbie Bell both of Delight; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, August 11, 2012, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood with Bro. Larry Welch officiating. Viewing hours will be Friday, 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the funeral home. Interment with military honors will be held in the Hicks Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tony Cox, Buster Cox, Charlie Cox, Conrad Cox, Jerry B. Cox and Ronald Cox. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
