Wilma Faye (Carver) Langston passed away at the age of 84 on Tuesday, November 28th in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was born the 9th child of 11 to parents William & Mattie Carver in Steele, Missouri. Soon after her family moved to Arkansas first to Russell then Judsonia and North Little Rock when she was a teen. There she helped her parents at their egg farm.
Her first job was working at a drive-in serving hamburgers, fries and ice cream. When she had her break, she would make herself a chocolate covered ice cream cone, double dipping when she could get away with it. At 18 she began working at the Timex factory leaving there when her daughter was in elementary school. Later she began working at Total Fitness Health Club's nursery from there to the daycare of The Nazarene Church of Jacksonville, where she was also a member, retiring from there after its closing.
Faye's favorite things to do were spending time with her family, working in her flower beds, watching and feeding hummingbirds, reading the Bible, baking and watching the news and "Wheel of Fortune" on TV.
Faye is the last of her 10 other siblings to leave us. She was proceeded in death by brothers Billy Jr., Troy and Terry and sisters Minnie, Fawn, Evelyn, Lawanda, Joyce, Shirley and Glenda "Nammer". She leaves behind to Mourne her loss, daughter Sheryl (Mark) Miessner of Cabot, grandson Matthew Miessner of Austin, granddaughter Heather Miessner of Cabot, great granddaughter Savannah Miessner of Ward and great grandson Mark Elliott Miessner of Ward. Many nieces and nephews including one nephew whom she held especially dear Marcus "Marky"(Lisa) Carver of El Paso. Along with many other friends.
Her family would like to thank the staff of Presbyterian Village who made her stay there so much easier. Her nurse Javonne especially.
Services will be held on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 11:00 AM in the Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel with visitation to be held one hour prior at 10:00 AM. Interment will be at Meadowbrook Memorial Cemetery in Beebe, Arkansas. Sign the guestbook at www.smithfamilycares.com.
