It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother and grandmother, Wilma Jeanne Willis, who left us peacefully at the age of 82 on August 22, 2024.
Jeanne was a remarkable woman whose unwavering love and kindness touched the lives of everyone she met. She was the heart of our family, always creating a loving environment filled with laughter and joy.
Born on June 12, 1942, Jeanne dedicated her life to nurturing and uplighting those around her. She was a pillar of strength for our family, always ready with warm hugs, wise advice, and delicious home cooked meals. Her laughter was infectious, her smile brightened even the darkest days, and her compassion knew no bounds. She dedicated 10 years of her working career to Kolor Print Photo Plant as a photo processor and 19 years to Teletype Inc. as an inspector. Hosting family gatherings always made her heart happy. She was a member of East End Baptist Church where she had many friends. She loved to paint and take photos and loved to spoil her fur-babies.
As a mother and grandmother, she was simply incomparable, showering everyone with love, wisdom, and unforgettable memories. Whether it was baking with her grandchildren, telling stories of her youth, or offering support during tough times, she made every moment special. She has an extraordinary gift for making everyone feel valued and cherished, creating a home that was a refuge for all.
Jeanne is preceded in death by her parents, Vernon O’Cain and Tressie O’Cain; siblings, Ronnie O’Cain and Michael O’Cain. She is survived by her children, Johnny Patrick Collier (Laura), Jenia Collier Denny, Kevin Duke Willis (Ashley); grandchildren, Jennifer Denny (Jake), Tyler Willis, Meghan Denny (Tiffany), Tiffany Willis; great-grandchildren, Kenzie, Finley, Freya; along with a host of family and friends. She was the best woman we ever knew and her love will forever guide us.
