Wilma Garrett Mincher, 94, formerly of Clarksville, passed away peacefully at Belvedere Nursing and Rehabilitation on April 7, 2020. She was born on January 10, 1926, in Clarksville, Arkansas, to Dee A. and Effie M. Garrett. Wilma lived most of her life in Clarksville where she worked at the Mitchell Nursing Facility and at the Johnson County Clerks Office. She loved being active at the Senior Center and caring for friends and family. She married James Mincher and moved to Amarillo and they enjoyed many years of travel and adventures including flying their small airplane. Wilma learned to fly at 60 years old and enjoyed seeing much of the country. After moving to Hot Springs to be near family, she enjoyed going for a ride to "see the sites" and loved her day trips to Clarksville. She was preceded in death by her son, Garry Lee McGhee; her husband, James Mincher; her parents, Dee A. and Effie Garrett; two brothers, Chester Garrett and Daniel Garrett; and one niece, Danella Garrett. Wilma is survived by her granddaughter, Gabrielle McGhee of Santa Fe, New Mexico; nieces, Mary Kay Wurm (Mike) and Dee Ann Garrett, all of Hot Springs; nephews Richard Garrett (Janice) of Conway and many grand-nieces and grand-nephews. The family would like to thank Brookfield Memory Care, West Shores Senior Living and The Caring Place for their excellent care and compassion. Her body will be cremated with a celebration of Wilmas life to be held in Clarksville at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Wilmas memory to The Caring Place of Hot Springs, 101 Quapaw Avenue, Hot Springs, Arkansas 71901 or just take a drive around your community to "see the sites." Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
