Willo Dean Davis, 99, of Little Rock, passed away January 19, 2021. She was born in Paragould, Arkansas to Ausbun Earnest Ellington and Myrtle Maria Wood Ellington. She was a graduate of Heber Springs High School, worked at the Jacksonville Ordinance Plant during World War II and retired from Southwestern Bell after 36 years of service. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 49 years, Nathaniel “Tip” Davis, and brothers, William Paul Ellington and Wendell Jack “Duke” Ellington and niece, Suzanne Ellington Slivinsky. She is survived by her sister, Margie Marie Ellington Hill Jefford, from Texas; nieces, Jacquelyn Sue Ellington White, from Colorado, and Iris Gale Jefford Mortensen, from Texas; nephews, Wayne Paul Ellington (Patricia) and Wendell Keith Hill (Beverly); great-nieces and nephew, Kimberly Ann White Mooney, Ginger Beth Hill Collier, Lauren Marie Mortensen and Michael Lee Mortensen; and great-great nieces, Searcy Maryellen Mooney and Darby Willo Mooney.
Services will be Thursday, January 28 at 2:00 p.m., preceded by visitation beginning at 12:00 noon, at Smith Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct., Little Rock, (501)224-2200. Interment will follow at Rest Hills Memorial Park. Mrs. Davis’ online guestbook may be signed at www.smithfamilycares.com.
