Willie B. Criswell, 83, went to be with his heavenly father on August 9, 2021. He grew up in Indianola, Mississippi and graduated from Indianola High School where he was an exceptional football player. After high school, he joined the United States Air Force and served four years in Germany as an Administrative Assistant.
After returning from Germany, he went to work for Modeling Tool and Die as a purchasing agent, from which he retired after 27 years of service. His love for trucks made him enroll in a truck driving course and he went to work for J.B. Hunt Trucking Company and retired again in 1998.
Willie purchased a home in Sherwood where he liked to sit on his front porch, visit with his neighbors and wave at people passing his house. He belonged to a group of men who met at McDonald’s, had coffee and discussed world events.
Willie was preceded in death by his parents, James Lewis and Lila Mae Criswell, daughter, Candace Martin , and two brothers, John D. Criswell and Harvey S. Criswell. He is survived by his daughters, Glyn Jenkins and Dawn Bassel and his brother, Robert Louis Criswell.
