William H. “Dub” Harper, 67, of Sherwood, Arkansas passed away on
Wednesday, August 4th, 2021. He was born April 2, 1954 in Shirley, Arkansas to
the late Henry Alvin and Tom Nell Doyle Harper. Dub was preceded in death by
his daughter Stefanie Leigh Harper, his parents, brother Joe Tom Harper, sister
Jackie Harper Burnett, and daughter-in-law Trish Harper.
Dub was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during Desert Storm with the Arkansas
National Guard. His active duty and Guard service spanned 20 years as he retired
from the AR National Guard in 2014. He had also retired from NLR Electric
Department. Dub loved hunting, fishing, his grand-kids, and his dog, Button.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Linda Catherine Brown Harper, his
children, Scott Harper of Durant, Oklahoma, Chadd Harper (Allison) of Sherwood,
Brian Harper (Audra) of Ft. Smith, and Heather Harper Gallentine (David) of
Jacksonville; his nine grandchildren, Kevin Harper, Raul Trevino, Johnathan
Harper, Addison Harper, Dylan Harper, Caleb Harper, Aynabelle Harper, Hayden
Harper and Hadley Harper; by his siblings Geniece Franks (Floyd) of North Little
Rock, Ben Harper (Martha) of North Little Rock, Kathy Pflughoeft (Chuck) of
Eagle River, Wisconsin, Sue Bledsoe (Rob) of Russellville, Jane Buckley (Steve)
of Leesburg, Virginia and by his one “special child” (dog)- Button. Also, by many
nieces, nephews and extended family that will miss him.
Pallbearers will be the United States Army Honor Guard. Honorary Pallbearers
will be Kevin Harper, Johnathan Harper, Raul Trevino, Dylan Harper, Caleb
Harper, Hayden Harper, David Gallentine, and John Robert Bledsoe.
Visitation is from 3:00-5:00 p.m. Sunday, August 8, at Smith-Sherwood Funeral
Home (7700 Hwy 107, Sherwood). Funeral services will be Monday, 10:30 a.m.,
August 9 th at the First Baptist Church of Sherwood (701 Country Club Rd.,
Sherwood) officiated by Rev. Travis Matthews. Burial will be in Rest Hills
Memorial Park with full Military Honors.
