William Watson

William A. "Bill" Watson age 89 of Arkadelphia died Wednesday, December 30, 2009 in Arkadelphia. He was born July 31, 1920 the son of Ernest and Lucy Burns Watson. He was a retired carpenter, U.S. Army Veteran of WWII, and a member of the Second Baptist Church of Arkadelphia. He was preceded in death by his wife Mildred Patterson Watson, one son Tommy Watson, a brother Charles Watson and one sister Dorothy Olive.

Survivors include one daughter Joyce Dixon and her husband Joe of Arkadelphia, two brothers, Robert G. Watson of Arkadelphia and Howard Watson of Louisiana, one sister Hazel Sammons of Alabama, three grandchildren, Terry Dixon of Alabama, Ann Strother and her husband Mitchell of Bismarck, and Tomi Hill and her husband Sean of Texas, six great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2 PM Saturday, January 2, 2010 in the Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Chapel with Rev. Carl Kluck and Rev. Stan Parris officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Grandsons and great grandsons will be pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Carrol Buck, Jimmy White, Ronnie Riggle and Richard Carter Visitation will be 6-8 PM Friday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be to the Second Baptist Church Building Fund.
