William Tubbs

William R. Tubbs, 88, of Little Rock passed away on September 16, 2016. He was
born in Monticello, AR on March 10, 1928 to Velton Roy and Cora Lynn (Harvey) Tubbs. Mr. Tubbs was a Deacon at Ironton Baptist Church and a retired Claims Manager for Firemen's Fund Insurance Company. He was in the Merchant Marines and also a member of the Tubbs Camp Hunting Club.

He enjoyed visiting with his family and friends, golfing and riding his golf cart with his dog, Pete, and he was an avid Razorback fan.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Elsie Tubbs of Little Rock; children, Karen Tubbs White and husband, Stan of Hamburg, AR and Charles Tubbs of Little Rock; his beloved granddaughter, Kaley White; and a host of other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Leon Tubbs and sisters, Margaret Haley and Louise Cannon.

Services will be today, Wednesday, September 21 at 2:00 p.m., preceded by visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Ironton Baptist Church, 14718 Ironton Cut-off Rd., Little Rock, AR 72206, with Dr. Sydney Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at Ironton Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ironton Baptist Church Building Fund. The family wishes to give special thanks to his caregivers, Marilyn Gibson, Haley, Angela, Jasmine, Petra, Mary, Doris, Trina, Nick, Laveisha, Cindy, Tracy and Gracie, Bernice with Home Helpers and the doctors, nurses and staff of St. Vincent's Intensive Care Unit.
