William Jennings Somers, 94, of Little Rock, died Monday, May 16, 2011. He was born July 4, 1916 in England, Arkansas to William Jennings Somers, Sr. and Charlotte Ford Somers. He graduated from Little Rock High School, now Central High, the University of Arkansas and the University of Arkansas School of Law. For many years he was librarian of the Arkansas Supreme Court Library in Little Rock. He was a longtime member of First Christian Church.
Preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Jacqueline Hearn Somers, and his brother, James Ford Somers, he is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Ann Somers; his sister, Charlotte Somers Monk; and several nieces and nephews and their families.
Services will be held Thursday, May 26 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of First Christian Church, with the Rev. Kevin Robbins officiating. Memorials may be made to First Christian Church or to one's favorite charity.
