William S. "Smitty" Johnson, 70, of Jacksonville, went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 24, 2008. He was born to Thornton and Mae Johnson in Milburn, Kentucky on May 20, 1938. He was a retired bookkeeper and a member of Kellogg Valley Baptist Church.
Preceded in death by his first wife, Louise Johnson, his parents, a sister and two brothers, he is survived by his wife, Bettye; his brother, Jimmy; and his nine step-children. He will be missed by his many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and all his friends, especially the friends from Pig "n" Chick.
There will be visitation on Monday, October 27 from 6-8 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.), Little Rock. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 28 at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home, officiated by Rev. Winford Callison and Brother Tim McMinn. Burial will follow in Rest Hills Memorial Park in Sherwood. Memorials may be made to Arkansas Hospice, 5600 W. 12th St., Little Rock, AR 72204.
