Thad Norman, Sr.

William Thaddeus Norman, Sr., born on September 11, 1941, in Lynn, Arkansas, passed away on April 8, 2025. He was a cherished member of his community and will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.

Thad dedicated a significant part of his life to serving others, first as a Specialist in the Army National Guard, where he exemplified dedication and service to his country. Following his military service, he became the proud owner of a beloved donut shop in Little Rock, where he brought joy to countless customers with his delightful treats and warm personality. After retiring from the donut business, he continued to contribute to his community by driving a truck for JB Hunt, showcasing his strong work ethic and commitment to supporting those around him.

Thad was preceded in death by his parents, James Don Norman and Bessie Winnie Smith Norman; his son, Thad Norman Jr.; his step-daughter, Dee Norman; his brother, Jim Norman; and his sister, Anita Lackey.

He is survived by his dear sister, Becky Hannah, his brother, David Norman (Euldean), his step-daughter, Dawn Umphries, and his brother-in-law, Tommy Lackey. They will remember him as a loving sibling and step-father who brought happiness and pride to their lives. The loss of Thad will be felt deeply by them, as well as by all whose lives he touched throughout his journey.

A graveside service to honor Thad's memory will be held at Pinecrest Memorial Park located in Alexander, Arkansas, on April 18, 2025, starting at 3:00 PM. His legacy of kindness, dedication, and love will endure in the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
