William McCarroll

William Ryan McCarroll, 72, of Little Rock, passed away. Born in Little Rock on November 23, 1937, to Hugh Pierce McCarroll and Mary Elizabeth Ryan McCarroll, he attended Subiaco Academy and the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville where he was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. Mr. McCarroll was in the Group Insurance business for many years and most recently was employed by Baptist Hospital Labs. He enjoyed traveling around the state and visiting at the clinics he served in his work. He was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Souls Catholic Church and also a member of the Blue Rock Sportsman's Club where he avidly engaged in his favorite hobby of Skeet Shooting.
Surviving Mr. McCarroll are his sister, Mary Jane McCarroll Calhoun (John C, Jr.), of Little Rock; uncle, William E. Maguire of North Little Rock; cousins, Lynn Via (Peter), of Richmond, Virginia, Nancy Stark (Jonathan) of North Little Rock, Martha Armstrong (William) of Houston, Texas and William R. Harrison of Little Rock.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 13, 2010 at 3:30 p.m. at Our Lady of the Holy Souls Catholic Church by Rev. Erik T. Pohlmeier, followed by burial at Oakland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Belly Rubs Basset Rescue, P.O. Box 23332, Knoxville, TN 37933 or CARE for Animals, Inc., 5516 Kavanaugh Blvd., Little Rock, AR 72207.
