William E. "Bill" Knox, 81, died on September 29, 2009 in Little Rock. Born March 1, 1928 in Old Austin, Arkansas, he served in the US Navy from 1945-1947. He retired as Chief of Communications of the Associated Press after 43 years of service.
Preceded in death by his parents, James and Ruth Knox of Cabot, four brothers and four sisters, Bill is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary Ellen; children, Janet Knox, Craig Knox (Cynthia), Shannon Law and Brian Knox (Melissa); grandchildren, Kimberly, Megan, Robin and Lee Knox and Claire, Rob and Joey Law; step-grandchildren, Chris Harrell and Calley Reed and their children; and sister, Peggy O'Neal.
Visitation will be at 5:00 p.m. followed by rosary at 6:00 on Thursday, October 1 at Christ the King Catholic Church, 4000 N. Rodney Parham, Little Rock. Funeral Mass will be said by Father John Connell at Christ the King on Friday, October 2 at 10:30 a.m., followed by burial at Forest Hills Memorial Park.
