William Hoffman

William Eugene ?Bill? Hoffman, 76, of North Little Rock passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2009. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council 6253, worked for Union Pacific Railroad and Rock Island Railroad for twenty five years, and retired from the State of Arkansas after 20 years. He brought industries into Arkansas such as Blytheville Steel, Maybelline and Remington Arms. He was a United States Air Force veteran. Bill was a volunteer coach for Lakewood and Sylvan Hills girls softball and boys baseball, he loved and coached his children and grandchildren. Bill was an avid golfer and casino patron.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Shirley Rendle Hoffman, of North Little Rock; daughters, Danine Gabriel, of Sherwood and Lynn Fryar and husband, Gary, of Jacksonville; son, Steve Hoffman and wife, Kim, of Little Rock; grandchildren, Brandon, Brittney and Bryson Gabriel; brothers, Phil Hoffman and wife, Bobbie and Don Hoffman and wife, Nancy, all of Topeka, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Marguerite Hoffman and his brother, Dick Hoffman.

Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:30 A.M., Monday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Burial will be in Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Sunday at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main St., 758-1170. Online obituary and guest register at www.nlrfh.com.
