William Lee Harding

William “Bill” Lee Harding, born on April 4, 1940, in Bauxite, Arkansas, peacefully passed away on August 6, 2024. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend to many.

Bill led a remarkable life that was filled with dedication to his family, church, and work. After proudly serving in the Army following high school, he started his career in construction and later retired after many years from Alcoa as a millwright. Known for his ingenuity and resourcefulness, Bill earned the title of a "Jerry-rigger".

Outside of work, Bill found joy in various hobbies such as fishing, bush hogging on his tractor, welding, and spending time tinkering in his shop. He was a deacon for many years at New Prospect Missionary Baptist church. However, his proudest accomplishments were undoubtedly his family, whom he cherished above all else.

In mourning his loss yet celebrating his life are Bill's loving wife of 64 years, Virginia Harding; his daughter, Christie Yates (Harvey); his son, Brian Harding (Stacy); his grandchildren: Jimmy Yates (Jenna), Shelby Harding, Chase Harding, and Addie Harding; his great-granddaughter, Jensen Yates. He is also survived by his close cousin, Scott Howard; his sister, Marion Thornberry (Jerry); his brother, Darryl Harding (Susan); and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, church family, and lifelong friends.

Bill was preceded in death by his mother, Marie Alberson; father, Bill Alberson; aunts, Mary Griffin and Helen Howard; and grandmother, Pearl Crawford.

A special thank you to the pallbearers: Jimmy Yates, Chase Harding, Scott Howard, Clint Newcomb, Brian Mills, and Timmy Howard.
