William Elbert Green, Sr., age 84, of Hot Springs, died Tuesday, May 5, 2020. He was born on June 6, 1935, in Sheridan, the son of Minor Jewell Green and Edna Maybell Crook Green. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sue Green; his second wife, Barbara Green; his parents; six brothers, Minor Fair Green, Jewell Elester Green, Ira Levi Green, John Fletcher Green, Charlie Samuel Green and James Leonard Green; and two sisters, Elizabeth Hof and Louise Lavelle. A United States Air Force veteran, he retired after working for many years at Weyerhaeuser in Mountain Pine. He loved hunting, fishing and visiting family and he never met a stranger. William is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Sandy Green of Hot Springs; two grandchildren, Kyle and Britlyn Green of Point Pleasant, West Virginia and Kelly Green of Hot Springs; one step-son, John Smith of Mountain Pine; one step-daughter, Sarah Taylor of Portsmouth, Ohio; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of wonderful friends. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, May 8, 2020, in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, near Donaldson, with Bro. Jeff Hill officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of Kindred Home Health, the staff of Hospice Home Care and Dr. Hunter Carrington. Arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs.
