William Jones

William "Bill" Earl Jones, age 80, died peacefully in his home and went to be with the Lord on February 25th, 2010. Bill was born February 23rd, 1930 in Aubrey, Arkansas, to Clyde and Cora Jones. He attended Lee County schools prior to joining the United States Army in 1948, where he attained the rank of Staff Sergeant. After retiring from the service in 1968, Bill and his family moved to their residence in Sherwood.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Nancy Ingram Jones of Aubrey, Arkansas; a daughter, Janet Jones Webb of North Little Rock; sons David Jones of Jacksonville, Tim Jones of Beebe and Tony Jones of North Little Rock; a grandson, William Taylor Jones of North Little Rock; seven granddaughters, Leah Evelyn Jones of North Little Rock, Kimberley Jones of Oklahoma City; Kristen Jones of Oklahoma City; Jessica Jones of Beebe, Elizabeth Jones of Beebe, Emily Jones of Beebe, and Victoria Jones of Beebe; a sister Bobbie Godfrey of El Centro, California; a brother Clyde Jones of Maryville, Washington. He is also survived by his former daughter-in-law, Debby Rutledge of Oklahoma City, OK.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Cora Jones; a granddaughter, Rebecca Jones of Jacksonville; a brother, Wylie Jones of Marianna, Arkansas; and sisters Brucie Sullivan and Bessie Williams of Marianna, Arkansas.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 pm on Monday, March 1, 2010 at Huson Funeral Home in Sherwood. Services will be at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at Huson Funeral Home with burial to follow at 2:00 pm at the Arkansas State Veterans' Cemetery on Maryland Ave in North Little Rock. Relatives and friends are welcome.
