William Dewey Derrick, 84, of North Little Rock, died Wednesday, February 3, 2010, born March 20, 1925 in Scott, Arkansas (Steele Bend) to Joseph C. Derrick and Rebecca Wilkerson Derrick. He was a member of Lynchview Baptist Church, and was member and past master of Crescent Lodge #403, North Little Rock. Derrick was a Navy veteran of World War II, served in the Aleutians, New Guinea, Marshall, and Philippine Islands. He was retired from Air Technician Detachment of Arkansas Air National Guard.
He is survived by his wife, Lorene E. Derrick; two daughters, Mary Alice Martin and husband, Louis of Morrilton, Melinda Ann Mitford and husband, Mark of Grapevine, Texas; two granddaughters, Morgan and Madison Mitford; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday in the North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel with Brother James Ray Raines and Allen Brown officiating followed by Masonic services. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery, Arch Street Pike in Little Rock. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday at the funeral home, 1921 Main St., 758-1170.
