William Denton

William “Bill” Gene Denton, Jr., 70, of Ward, AR died September 30, 2021.  He was born November 29, 1950 in North Little Rock and attended school here.

In 1970 he began working with the IBEW Local 295, where he progressed to a Master Electrician. In his early years, he worked on various building in Little Rock and later in his career he began working industrial jobs that took him to Los Angeles, Connecticut, and Alaska on the Alaskan pipeline.  This was one of his favorite adventures.

Bill proudly served his country in the Army National Guard 148th EVAC Hospital for six years. One of the things he was most proud of was his time spent at the Ft. Sam Houston Burn Center aiding burn victims from the Vietnam War.

Bill spent his life enjoying the outdoors.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman.  His favorite times were spent doing activities with his brothers, sons and life-long friends: Rus Carlley, Ben Evans, Tommy Eubanks and Johnny Mayfield.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Ellen Holmes Denton. He was a proud father of two sons:  David Clay Denton and Aaron Keith Denton (Heather); father, William Denton, Sr; granddaughters: Seirra and Faith Pearce and Kinsley and Harper Williams and their parents, Michael and Lana Williams; brothers:  Paul Denton (Betty), Jim Denton (Gwen), and Larry Denton (Lisa).  He was preceded in death by his mother, Marilyn Sue Gill Bainter.
