William Colbert

William Leslie "Les" Colbert, 82, of Beebe, Arkansas, was born January 4, 1933 at Beebe, to Elzie and Mae (Rainey) Colbert, and he died Wednesday, October 28, 2015. He was a farmer who loved talking about his horses and mules. He was a hard-working man who loved his family deeply.

Les worked for the Daniel Gas Company that later became Synergy Gas as a delivery man for twenty-six years. He then worked as a grounds and maintenance man for Beebe Public Schools for twenty-two years. He was a member of Beebe Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife of sixty-one years, Betty Sue (Price) Colbert; sons Steve (Anita) Colbert of Beebe, Tony (Beth) Colbert of Bentonville, and Dennis (Susie) Colbert of Lititz, Pennsylvania; nine grandchildren, Holley, Leslie, Justin, Cassidy, Ben, Brenley, Brendan, Gavin and Landan; one niece and one nephew.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, LaVonne Henderson.

In lieu of plants, memorials may be made to the Beebe Public Education Fund, c/o Betty Kelly, 1201 W. Center St., Beebe, AR 72012.

Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. Funeral will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 30, 2015, at Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home, with burial in Weir Cemetery. Arrangements by Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home. www.westbrookfuneralhome.com
