William "Bill" H. Van Cleve, 86, Maumelle passed away Sunday, May 13, 2012. He retired from Shell Oil Company as Plant Manager after 32 years, was a graduated of University of Washington, Seattle and a United States Army veteran of World War II. Bill was a member of Hill Top Volunteer Fire Department and the Elks Club. He was very active in Arkansas Arabian Horse Club and actively rode horses at Crestfield Farms.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Jennie H. Van Cleve, of Maumelle; two daughters, Kristine Van Cleve, of Littleton, Colorado and Laurie Van Cleve and her husband, Paul Teal, of Jacksonville; three sisters, Marilyn Whitcomb, of Gresham, Oregon, Elizabeth Skadan and Judy Van Cleve, both of Seattle, Washington; eight grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, David H. Van Cleve.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday in the North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m., Friday at the funeral home, 1921 Main St., 758-1170. Online obituary and guest registry at www.nlrfh.com.
