William “Bill” Chase, age 97, of Pearcy, a Pearl Harbor Survivor, went to his heavenly home on Wednesday, May 25, 2022.
He was born on May 29, 1924, in Glenwood, the son of Charlie Chase and Annie Collins Chase. He is preceded in death by his parents; and his son, Larry Chase.
Bill was a Christian and a charter member and deacon of Pearcy Baptist Church. He was a United States Navy veteran serving in World War II at Pearl Harbor. Bill and his son, Larry, owned and operated Chase Auto Sales and Salvage in Pearcy for many years. He loved the outdoors and was an avid deer hunter and fisherman. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to all that knew and loved him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 77 years, Thelma Pauline Connelly Chase; his daughter and son-in-law; Nancy and John Hall; his daughter-in-law, Linda Chase; three grandchildren, Jeffrey Chase (Angela), Melissa Looper White (Benji) and Leah Upchurch (Adam); six great-grandchildren, Jesse Chase, Emma Reilly, Jake Chase, Anna Reilly, Macy White and Josh Hill; one brother Odell Chase (Kathryn); several nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, May 31, 2022, with Bro. Phillip Millard and Bro. Steve Thacker officiating in the Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel, Hot Springs.
Interment will be in the Oma Cemetery with military honors by the United States Navy.
Visitation will be held at 1:00 PM, prior to the service.
Pallbearers are Danny Chase, Jake Chase, Jesse Chase, Scott Connelly, Josh Hill, Jeff Kilby, Benji White and Jerel White.
