Wheeler Harry Mathews age 84 of Sherwood, died Thursday, March 26, 2009 at John L. McClellan Memorial Veterans Hospital. He was a member of Rose Hill Church of the Nazarene. He was a veteran of WW II serving in the US Navy. He was employed with RCA for over 32 years before his retirement. Member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles for 50 years, was a Past President, and served as Treasurer for 15 years, was a member of the American Legion, VFW, and Naval Group Acorn 52. He is preceded in death by his parents Clarence W. and Rose Pauline (Davis) Mathews, the mother of his children Charlsey (Boley) Mathews, daughter Valarie Garland, great Grandson Alexander Garland. Survived by his wife Evelyn Saville Mathews, daughters and sons-in-law Diann Harvey, Sue Byford, Debbie and Bob Allen, Deirdre and Scott Lee, sons and daughter-in-law James Mathews, Les and Linda Saville, grandchildren Tina Lee, Kelly Campbell, Wayne Byford, Robert Keeton, David Keeton, Jeremiah Mathews, Keri Mathews, Bryan Allen, Ericca Longinotti, Erin Bowman, Lance Saville, Lindsie Moseley, Jason Garland and Liesel Riley, 24 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. He also leaves behind his beloved pet Daisey. Funeral Service will be 10:00 am Tuesday at Huson Funeral Home, Sherwood, and Minister E. F. Crook officiating. Family and friends will meet at Hope Cemetery in Perryville, AR for a 2:00 pm graveside services. Active pallbearers will be Past Presidents of Area 60 FOE. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Little Rock or the Charity of your choice. The family will receive friends 5:00 - 7:00 pm Monday at Huson Funeral Home on JFK Blvd, Sherwood. Friends may sign the on line guest book at www.husonfuneralhome.com
