Wesley H. Snipes, 78, of Roland, Arkansas went on to create a new "Snipes Corner" in heaven, July 14, 2022. He was born as the only child to Allen and Ethel Snipes on April 1, 1944. His beginnings were nothing less than miraculous as he had several medical challenges to overcome. And overcome he did! The early struggles instilled in him determination to live out his life fully every day. He lived authentically; appreciating God’s creation and rather be outside in it every day.
He was an avid hunter and could be found with friends fishing in local lakes and ponds. To all he encountered he had a handshake to offer with an endearing smile and most likely a joke. He loved to make everyone laugh. If ever there was a need he would do his best to meet that need. Although he enjoyed traveling this beautiful country with the love of his life; he would always return to “Snipes Corner”. He was known to say, “I would never live nowhere else”.
Although, he had no biological children, that did not stop him from touching multiple lives. He along with his life long love, Debbie, have impacted many lives with their unconditional love.
He lived out his retirement continuing his tremendous impact on everyone he encountered. Whether with a joke, a helping hand or just words of wisdom. Yes, Wes lived a full life that impacted all of whom had the pleasure in knowing him.
Wesley was preceded in death by his parents, his many Aunts and Uncles, Cousins, And nieces and nephews. His Best Friend Jerry Hoyle. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 41 years Debbie Snipes; his Byrd family; his “Son and DIL', Barry and Barakah Bennett; grandson Jonah; Godchildren Shayla and Sierra Crawford; his Louisiana Family; the friends from The One Cut Sawmill. Along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, and the friends and neighbors of the Roland Community.
Visitation will be 6:00PM-8:00PM Monday, July 18, 2022 at Smith-Little Rock Funeral Home (8801 Knoedl Court). A funeral service will be held at 10:00AM, Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at the funeral home with burial following at Kennerly Cemetery in Roland.
