Wesley Carter

Wesley H. Carter, 89 of Floyd went to be with the Lord May 20, 2020.

Wes graduated Floyd High School in 1948, and married Charlene Gayler later that year.  They relocated to Little Rock in 1951 where Wes joined the Police Force.  He worked for Little Rock Police Dept. from 1955 until 1985 when he retired as a Lieutenant.  They returned to Floyd in 2004.  He was a member of the Floyd Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by parents Smith and Julia Carter and brother Wayne Carter.

He leaves to miss him, his loving family, including his wife of seventy-one years; two children, Kathy Gortney, Kenneth Carter (Jane); five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, one great-great grandson and many friends.

The service will be private.
