Weldon Covell
Weldon A. Covell, 68, of Little Rock went home to his heavenly Father on September 8, 2009 after a brave battle with leukemia. Weldon never met a stranger and was known for his kind and giving nature, always worrying about taking care of other people more than himself. His sense of humor and personality always made people smile.
He was the son of the Late Rev. Lloyd and Velma Covell of Gravel Ridge. He is survived by his wife, Lola Covell; his daughters, Brenda McKim and husband, Terry, Trina Barton and husband, Frank; and stepson, Mark Simpson. He was Papa to Heather, Lindsey, Joseph, Colby, Summer, and Pappy to Braydon, Brinkley and Aaron. Survived by two brothers; four sisters; and a host of loving family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday at North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Hugh Yarbrough and Rev. John Hamby officiating. Burial will be in Rest Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main, 758-1170. Online obituary and guest register at www.nlrfh.com.
