W.C. Wood

W.C. Wood went to his eternal home on June 21, 2019. W.C. was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great -grandfather, and friend. He was a member of Parkhill Baptist Church, and EANGUS. W.C. was proud to serve his country and state for 43 years. He never met a stranger and he always had a smile.

W.C. was married for 65 years to Bonnie Wood, who preceded him in death. He was a wonderful father to his children, Mike Wood; Cheryl Berryhill; Sandy Fenley (Bob Fenley); 5 grandchildren, Chris Hall (Tessa Hall), Ryne Wood, Whitney Vaughn (Shaun Vaughn), Travis Fenley, and Shannon Talburt. Great grandchildren, Dylan Hall, Kanynn Hall, Madison Davis, Megan Davis, and Meloni Hall; sister in law, Carol Ronning, nieces, Kristen Levine and Stephanie Rotunda; cousins, Gretchen Marchese and Carmen Smith.

We were blessed to be his children. The most important value that we are taught was our foundational belief in Jesus Christ, we didn’t grow up with a lot of money, but we had everything that we needed. Modeling the Christian faith has been the most impactful gift that was given to each of us and we strive to adhere to our upbringing. We have so many fond memories of daddy...making homemade kites, crafting firecracker guns out of aluminum, playing jokes on everyone to get a big laugh or reaction, gathering the family and cutting down our own Christmas trees to name a few. Daddy always put everyone’s wants and needs above his own. He was the picture of calmness, faithfulness, and steadfastness. If there was ever a man that you wanted to emulate, it was our daddy. We all hope that we can live  our lives like our daddy, if we do we will be happy and blessed. Thank you daddy for who you are to each of us, we love you and will see you in heaven.
