Wayne H. Sheridan of Benton, Arkansas, passed away on December 20, 2024, at the age of 95. Born on November 6, 1929, in Bauxite, Arkansas, Wayne's life was a testament to the values of kindness, friendship, and dedication to family and community.
Wayne retired from Alcoa after serving many years as a foreman, where he demonstrated not only his skills but also his commitment to his work and colleagues. He was known for his outgoing nature, famously saying, "to make friends, you have to be friendly." This philosophy resonated throughout his life, enabling him to connect with many people, never failing to leave a positive impression on everyone he encountered.
Throughout his life, Wayne enjoyed spending time outdoors. His two greatest passions were taking care of his garden and fishing, activities that brought him immense joy and relaxation. In addition to gardening and fishing, Wayne delighted in hunting, camping, and woodworking, always busy with various projects. He poured love and energy into everything he did, and his creativity was matched only by his generosity of spirit.
Wayne cherished his family above all else. He is survived by his loving wife of 73 years, Joann (Revis) Sheridan; children, Mike Sheridan and wife Diane, and Linda Alford and her husband who preceded her in death, Philip Alford; grandchildren, Heather Moody and husband Brad, Courtney Lumpkins and husband Jason, Lisa Miller and husband Bryan, Krissy Cooper and husband William, Clint Alford and wife Hillary, and Jason Alford. He also adored his great-grandchildren, Matti Carpenter and husband Kalob, Harrison Moody, Jase Lumpkins and wife Lexi, Kayli Lumpkins, Ashley Statler and husband Weston, Kylee Emmer and husband Brandon, Logan Alford and wife Abby, Emilie Alford, Jordan Player, Joshua Haas, Lacie Cooper, Carlie Cooper, Jakob Haas, and Jax Alford, as well as his seven great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Carlee Sheridan and wife Magaret; a special nephew, Clifton Sheridan and wife Julie; and a host of family and friends who love Wayne and will miss him dearly.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, William H. and Lillie Bell (McPherson) Sheridan; four brothers; and three sisters. His legacy of love, friendship, and joy will continue to inspire all who knew him.
