Wayne "Weird" Ray McNeely, 67, of Mayflower passed away Tuesday, November 4, 2014. He was born August 15, 1947 in Hawaii to Ray and Juanita Boshears McNeely. He was a machinist with Union Pacific Railroad and loved riding his motorcycle as evident from his traveling throughout the country on his bike. Wayne was an avid NASCAR fan, a great mechanic, and loved his cars. He had a huge heart who never met a stranger and did everything in his power make his wife Kay happy. Wayne had finished building home earlier in the year for the two of them only to have it destroyed by the recent tornado that struck Mayflower this year. Ironically Wayne had just rebuilt that home timely to his death.
He is survived by his wife of 3 years, Kay McNeely, of Mayflower; mother Juanita McNeely; sons, Chris (Shannon) McNeely, of Greenbrier and Steve McNeely of Conway; four grandchildren, Heather (Dane) McNeely Harris, of Austin, Texas, C.J. McNeely of Greenbrier, Jade McNeely of Little Rock and Gabe McNeely of Plano, Texas; and many, many friends and relatives. He was preceded in death by his brother, Daniel Leon McNeely, of North Little Rock and father, Ray McNeely, of Maumelle.
A visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., Friday at Smith - North Little Rock Funeral Home, followed by a memorial service at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Online obituary at
