Wayne McGee, a beloved member of the community, passed away on December 1, 2023, in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Born on January 7, 1940, in Long Beach, California, Wayne led a remarkable life defined by hard work and devotion to his loved ones.

Wayne is preceded in death by his parents John and Elma McGee, his loving wife Wanda McGee, and the mother of his children Ruth McGee.

Wayne proudly served in the Air Force, demonstrating his dedication to his country and a commitment to serving something greater than himself. After his military service, Wayne embarked on a fruitful career as a Machinist and foreman for the railroad for an impressive span of 30 years. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Wayne was known for his unwavering faith and love for God—an essential aspect of his life. He was a devoted servant to his Lord and found solace in his spiritual journey. He was also a member of Hot Springs Baptist Church.  In his spare time, Wayne found joy in simple pleasures like fishing in the lake.  He especially cherished moments spent with family and friends.

He is survived by five children, Mike (Sue) McGee, Theresa McGee, Rhonda (Greg) Stephenson, Karan (Doug) Peoples, and Ramona McGee Swinney. His younger brother Lynn McGee, ten grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. 

A Memorial Service will be held on December 5, 2023. Officiated by Bro. Mike Smith, the service will take place at Smith Family Funeral Home- Hot Springs located at 2205 Airport Road in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Beginning at 10:00 AM, friends and loved ones are invited to gather to honor Wayne's memory.

Wayne McGee leaves behind a rich legacy of hard work, devotion, and love for family, friends, and his Lord. His warm smile and compassionate nature touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
