Wayne Louie Cogburn, age 70, of Murfreesboro, died Saturday, February 5, 2011. He was born on March 24, 1940 at Newhope, the son of Bennett "Nort" Cogburn and Octavia Gatlin Cogburn. He loved music and helping with benefit concerts throughout the area and especially enjoyed being with his family and friends. Survivors include his lifetime partner, Donna Cogburn of Murfreesboro; his children and their spouses, Jerry and Teresa Cogburn of Nashville, Bobby Cogburn of Umpire, Christie and Mike Staten of Murfreesboro, Angela and Junior Lingo of Delight and Frank and Millie Nuttle of Nashville; the mother of his sons and his special friend, Bonnie Hutto of Umpire; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four brothers, Dewey "Boe" Cogburn of Glenwood, L. D. Cogburn of Norman, Kenneth "Dankey" Cogburn and Granville Cogburn both of Glenwood; four sisters, Lois Wilhite of Glenwood, Shirley "Puggy" Spears of Amity, LeeEllen Standridge of Hot Springs and Doris Rhodes of Nashville; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, February 8, 2011 in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood with Bro. Joe Cogburn officiating. Visitation will be Monday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Interment will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery at Newhope. Pallbearers will be Wendell Mann, Denver Taylor, Chris Trujillo, Tommy Cogburn, Dustin Staten and Dewayne Spears. Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Cogburn, Zachery Cogburn, Jerimiah Lingo and Trinity Cogburn. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
