Wayne R. Jones

Wayne R. Jones, age 91, of Kirby, passed away on Friday, May 6, 2022.

He was born on September 22, 1930, in Langley, the son of Macy Jones and Pearl Lawless Jones.  On October 5, 1951, he was married to the love of his life, Geneva Louise Walker Jones, who preceded him in death on March 28, 2013.  He was also preceded in death by his son, Ricky Jones, two brothers, Noel Jones and Junior Jones; one sister, Winnie Parker; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling, and listening to country music.  Wayne also loved working in his gardens and workshop, but his greatest joy in life was spending time with his family and friends, especially his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who he dearly loved with all his heart.  Wayne will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his three children and their spouses, Larry and Nancy Jones of Gravette, Gina and Jackie Vaughn of Glenwood and David Jones of Kirby; four grandchildren and their spouses, Nicky and Brian Berry, Brandon Vaughn, Rachel Jones, and Ty and Katy Vaughn; three great-grandchildren, James Wayne Berry, Charlie Brian Berry and Eli Walker Berry; his special friends, Brady, Brandy, Britany, Dee and Jerry; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, May 11, 2022, in the Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood with Bro. Greg Hamner officiating.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the funeral home.

Interment will be in the Ebenezer Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Vaughn, Ty Vaughn, Jerry Turner, Ronnie Post, Roy Post and Shane Carter.
