Wayne Dill, 71 of Little Rock , passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2009 in Little Rock, AR. He was born on September 07, 1937 in Lonoke, AR. He was the son of Hattie Shearfield-Dill.
Wayne was a retired Sergeant Major, and served in the United States Army within the fifth A.D.W.N. Company. Wayne received a Purple Heart, Combat Infantry Awards in the Vietnam/Korean wars along with many other awards for his service and combat. Wayne was a proud member of the elite Army Rangers. He was also a member of the American Legion, 40/8, and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He was a retired Security Guard for Murray Security Company. Wayne also worked for All-Right Parking Company as a parking deck attendant. Wayne was a very talented artist who loved to draw, play the guitar, and had a great passion for country classics and bluegrass music.
Wayne is preceded in death by his mother, Hattie Shearfield-Dill. Survivors include his wife Brenda "Kitty" Dill of Little Rock, AR; son Dean Dill of Colorado; daughter Deborah Lou Dodge of Lonsdale, AR; two brothers Joe and Paul Dill of Little Rock, AR; daughter Jeannie Brown of Florida; four grandchildren Ember and Mike Leach, Josh, Joey, and Laura Dill, and one great grandchild Dakota Leach.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at Arkansas State Veteran's Cemetery in North Little Rock, AR, under the direction of Huson Funeral Home in Little Rock, AR.
