Wayne E. Burke

Wayne Edward Burke, 78, of North Little Rock, Arkansas, died September 2, 2022 in Little Rock, Arkansas.

He was born on October 2, 1943, to James Andrew Burke and Sarah Viola Cummings Burke in North Little Rock.

Wayne attended Little Rock University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in 1968. He married Stephanie Ann DiCosmo on April 8, 1967 and they had two children, Shannon and Stuart.

For much of Wayne’s life he was employed by the family businesses of Capitol Wholesale Florist and Maumelle Nursery and Landscape.

Wayne is survived by his spouse of fifty-five years, Stephanie, daughter, Shannon Burke Archer (Joe), son, Stuart Burke (DeRonda), grandchildren, Jessica Burke, Richard Burke (Melinda), Ashton Alexander (Heath), Jameson Archer, Barrett Burke and great- grandchildren, Duane Nelson and Jude Nelson. He is also survived by sister, Gloria Burke Gough, and brother Ronald Burke (Kathy) and numerous nephews, nieces, and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Andrew Burke, and his mother, Sarah Viola Cummings Burke, his sister Emmajean Hall, and nephew Earl “Skip” Toler.

Visitation will be held at Smith Funeral Home in North Little Rock Chapel at 10:00am Thursday, September 8, 2022 with a memorial service to follow at 11:00am with Reverend Todd Paul Taulbee officiating.
